Connecting to Yourself Through Introspection Exercise
Being in touch with how we feel allows us the clarity to make changes in our lives and become healthier on all levels; mentally, physically and spiritually. Simply Creating awareness of how we think, keeping score of how our physical body feels, and being honest with our self about our habits can initiate a powerful shift in our consciousness that is geared toward affirmative action and healing.
Days turn into weeks, weeks into years and years into a lifetime. Happiness is living to heal in each moment.
Lets check in. Your answers to these questions are a personal conversation with yourself. Only you are to hear your response. As open and honest you are with yourself is as liberated as you will be. Take time with each question and erase any form of judgement you have toward yourself to create even more freedom and fully benefit from this exercise… There are no right answers, in fact the answers are always changing as we evolve…
When you wake up in the morning, what is the first thought that runs through your mind? Is it one of anticipation for the day, is it something left over from the day before, or is it dreading getting out of bed? How motivated are you to begin your day and how grateful are you to have opened your eyes?
How does your body feel when you arise? Do you feel light and flexible, or heavy and stiff in your muscles/joints? Do you have any pain at any time of the day? If you do, when and where do you feel this pain? Try to create awareness of what situations both internally or externally enhance the pain sensation.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Do you check your phone and emails, do you automatically feel the need to jump right on to social media or business obligations? How long do you allow yourself space before you expose yourself to the outside world?
Do you feel that you have a sense of direction for your day? Do you have a set intention or list of goals to achieve ?
If so, how many of these goals or projects are directly related to your passion or purpose? How Do these goals make you feel? Do they light you up on the inside or do they feel daunting?
Throughout your day, where does your energy level typically sit? Do you feel the need to consume things from the outside world to refill your tank, in any form ( coffee, social media, entertainment, sugar, gossip, or from other people). What keeps you energized physically and emotionally and out of boredom?
What is it you feel you NEED in order to be happy?
How often do you find yourself bored? What do you turn to when you are bored?
On the flip side, how often are you inspired? Do you have a regular source of joy and inspiration to turn to ? If so, what is it?
What are your dominate thoughts and feelings around the work you are doing in your life? Meaning your career, or business? Are you satisfied with what you are putting your energy/life force into?
What is the reason behind why you are performing the work you do? Is it purely financial obligation/ responsibility that fuels you, or is there a greater reason why you choose to carry out your duty?
Honestly speaking, Do you feel that you have the tools, resources, skills, time and confidence needed to fulfill your dreams and be truly happy?
